Welcome to the Southern Scooter Challenge Website
The Scooter Challenge is an endurance ride, from the sea to mountains in New Zealand’s heartland. From windswept Stirling Point in Bluff to the tourist Mecca and alpine resort of Queenstown. A journey of 220 kilometers to raise funds for the New Zealand Prostate Cancer Foundation.
The Challenge is in no way a race – it’s an awareness-raising and fundraising event for the survivors, families of those with prostate cancer and those committed to making a difference. By raising funds and awareness for the Prostate Cancer Foundation we are helping them continue their great work.
This is the 2nd running of the PlaceMakers Scooter Challenge; the next ride will be in 2013 (making the event bi-annual).
The Challenge is not for the fainthearted, this is not a relaxing day out, it is designed to be the coldest, longest, hardest, most grueling and uncomfortable test of endurance on a city scooter to raise money and awareness for the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
Over 600 New Zealand men die from prostate cancer every year. Incredibly prostate cancer is one of the most easily diagnosed and treatable cancers, yet despite this more people die of prostate cancer than any other cancer.
So lets do our bit, grab a scooter, lodge your entry, get fundraising and do your bit to help fight New Zealand’s deadliest cancer!
